Cannabidiol, commonly known as CBD, is a naturally-occurring, *non-psychoactive chemical compound found in cannabis plants. It’s one of the two primary active ingredients of Cannabis (the other one being THC or Tetrahydrocannabinol, which is psychoactive).
Recent scientific studies have shown that CBD may be effective in alleviating a whole list of ailments including anxiety, chronic inflammation and pain, insomnia, and even some rare forms of childhood epilepsy. There’s a long-held study in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease that found that CBD may help prevent cognitive decline. According to a review published in the Neurotherapeutics Journal, CBD may also be effective in treating Substance Use Disorder.
When it comes to skin care, hemp oils have moisturizing, soothing, anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties. The Linoleic Acid and Oleic Acids found in hemp oils help with various skin barrier issues, fine lines, and wrinkles. One of the Omega-6 fatty acids that hemp oil contains is Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA) which acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory while simultaneously encouraging skin growth and new cell generation. Hemp oil has been shown to help in balancing and moderating our own skin oil production, and has showed substantial promise in helping with acne, aging skin, and even Psoriasis.
Not to mention, the plant itself is so beautiful and incredibly fragrant.
Nature sure is amazing.
